The most accurate, however it can take between 2-5 working days, You need the subject's name, the date of bitrh if you have it, the previous address if you have it, and maybe a mobile number if you have it. Difference between a people trace and people search?

A trace utilises the previous address, name, date of birth and links to a new address. The correct persoin is located. Information on systems is updated regularly. 

A search involves searching a name with the hope that the record found is the person you are looking for. If the name is not common, or you know other occupants at the address then it's possible to locate a person. A search, however is usally derived from records updated once a year from the Electoral Register. The best advantage is that is instant and you can search many people at the same time.

Another way? 

It won't give you an address, but you can search for the person on Facebook. If there are too many matches try finding a friend with an un-common name then check their friend's list if it mentions the person you want to find. You can also google, if you have their area, the name + area, and see if it brings up any facebook pages or any other social media pages.

Any other ways?

Try asking another friend if they have any more clues on their whereabouts.

Join school/college groups on Facebook and ask on there if they know the person.

I have limited information about the person?

Try finding a family member instead. Gather clues. Contact the family member to ask about whereabouts.

Order birth certiicate to gather more clues. Search marriage records. Check if they were the reported next of kin on the death certiicate, Search probate records for the family. Were they the executor?
