Find a person UK
Find a person's current address in the UK using name or their Facebook profile.
We see 4 options based on our 15 years + tracing experience in the UK
1) Find a person UK budget Trace - 1-4 working days
We offer a basic trace where we can use a previous address you may have, a date of birth, sometimes a mobile number or email address, and then locate the person's current address. It's a basic system, however much better than a search. The trace also includes additional data the online search options do not have. Click here for more info on our find person UK basic trace.
2) Find a person UK Advanced Trace - 2-5 working days
This is similar to the basic trace, however advanced tracing systems are used. Accuracy and success rate is high. The address is verified as current. Click here to view our find person UK advanced trace
3) Instant find a person uk search tool
The instant option to find a person UK is you could search 192.com. It's an instant search tool that helps you find someone's address utilising electoral register information. It's an excellent resource to get instant results. You just enter a name, and a location if you have it, and you get to see what matches appear before you pay. It also shows other occupants at the address. They mention which years the match was found, so look out for current matches for the current year. If you want to search using 2 names at the same address to lower your matches and increase accuracy choose "advanced people search". click here to search 192.com
But what if there are too many matches or the name is very common?
192.com is a search tool. A very good search tool, but what you may need is an actual trace. A trace links together information and then finds the person. A search just shows the available matches like a data tool. A trace will locate the person. A trace however is not instant. It could take a few days for an agent to carry out the trace, however the results and accuracy are far greater.
4) Free find a person UK option and if you don't want the home/current address.
The final option, and free, is Facebook. It may not give you an address, however you could search for the person on Facebook. If there are too many matches try finding a friend with an un-common name then check their friend's list if it mentions the person you want to find. You can also google, if you have their area, the name + area, and see if it brings up any facebook pages or any other social media pages.
Summary
So to summarise we have a basic and advanced trace finder that can locate a current address using name, date of birth, previous address etc, and if you want something instant then 192.com is a great search tool, with free preview results, and contains a lot of records. If you are not too fussed about an address then free Facebook is your best way!

Mini project ideas for find a person uk
If you only have a name and need to gather more information so you can choose one of the options above.
Obtain the person's birth certificate using the findmypast link above. Get the date of birth. If it's a male use option 2 to carry out a trace. If it's a female use option 2 if last contact was after 1996. If contact was before 1996 check findmypast marriage records to find marriage record and spouse details then use option 1 or 2 to carry out a 2 name search.
If you have an old address before 1996 search the address via the local library or history centre in that area and find out who was living at the address. All the occupants.
On findmypast find the birth record, then look at maiden name and carry out a search using surname and maiden name in the same area. It may reveal siblings. If you are looking for a female it might be easier to find a male sibling.
Also if you do get the birth certificate you can use the names of parents to find their address then contact them if they know where the person is.
You can even join facebook groups for the workplace or school/college and put a messgae up if they know where the person is.
Then if still stuck send us what you have via live help and we will advise you.
